Description: Orange Wax is 100% natural; it is a by-product of the food industry that is extracted from the peels using mechanical presses. It is a very thick liquid that is deep orange in color.
Formulators will find natural Orange Wax to be an excellent emollient, as well as containing phytosterols. These phytosterols are excellent co-emulsifiers which aid in stabilizing emulsions. Orange wax is also reputed to possess anti-microbial properties as well.
Orange Wax is becoming a popular ingredient in leading lotions and creams, all while adding a beautiful orange citrus fragrance that is very similar in note to orange essential oil.
Caution: If too much orange wax is added to any formulation it may stain the skin. Orange wax has photo-toxic properties and as such sunlight should be avoided immediately after use or sunblocks should be used.
