This peppermint essential oil, Mentha piperita, is redistilled. Redistilled peppermint essential oil has a cleaner scent of peppermint and a higher content of menthol than the first distillation. We find that it produces a stronger mint scent in soaps and toiletries. Peppermint can help relieve headache and indigestion, reduce mental fatigue, increase alertness, relieve nausea, relieve itching and help maintain alertness. It repels insects effectively. Peppermint blends well with lavender, orange, geranium, rosemary, juniper and other oils that repel insects.
